About APABA SV

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (APABA SV) is a volunteer-led bar association that promotes the advancement of Asian Pacific American attorneys and the broader community through advocacy, education, professional development, and service. We are powered by committed legal professionals and law students across the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are now seeking an Executive Director or Operations Director to support our growing operational needs. This role is an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the legal community by enabling our volunteers to focus on their mission-driven work.

About the Role

The Executive Director (ED) or Operations Director will be the administrative and operational backbone of APABA SV. This individual will coordinate logistics, manage digital infrastructure, and support communications and events across all APABA SV committees.

We are open to structuring this role as a full-time staff or independent contractor position. Hours are flexible, but consistent availability and communication are key.

Core Responsibilities

🧾 Operations & Finance

Manage the organization’s budget and provide financial tracking support

Coordinate reimbursements and maintain documentation

Support sponsorship tracking and acknowledgment

Assist with preparation of tax-related materials, including annotating transaction records

Create and maintain RSVP systems for events

Manage event publicity across website, email, and social media

Send reminders and attendance nudges to boost turnout

Help calendar events and maintain internal schedules

Coordinate photo uploads and event documentation

Reach out to law schools and external partners for outreach (e.g., scholarship promotion)

Draft and send the weekly email newsletter

Manage email listservs and contact lists

Maintain consistency in event submissions across newsletters, social, and calendars

🎨 Design & Media

Create and format flyers, graphics, and announcements using tools like Canva or Adobe Express

Support visual consistency across platforms

πŸ’» Technology & Infrastructure

Maintain and update the APABA SV website (frontend and backend, or liaise with vendors)

Assist with modernizing the sign-in and RSVP interface

Explore automation solutions for recurring event and communication tasks

Provide light tech support or interface with tech volunteers/contractors

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organized, proactive, and dependable

Skilled in project coordination and juggling multiple small tasks across timelines

Experienced with nonprofit operations or supporting member-based organizations

Comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, and/or Eventbrite

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with committee chairs and board members

Bonus: Experience with AI tools or backend web development (or ability to manage vendors)

πŸ’° Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Expected range: $70,000-$110,000

⏰ Hours: Full time; flexible but must be available for any meetings scheduled during business hours California/Pacific Time

🏠 Location: Remote with occasional in-person events (optional)
