APABA-SV AI/Privacy/Cybersecurity Careers Panel

Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (APABA-SV) in partnership with Santa Clara Law APALSA, invites you to a panel discussion on careers in AI, privacy, and cybersecurity law. Panelists will share their experiences in private practice, public service, in-house, and entrepreneurial roles, and discuss the skills needed to thrive in these fast-growing areas.

Panelists:

- Christian Lee – Special Counsel at Cooley, advising data-driven companies on U.S. and international privacy and cybersecurity compliance. His practice spans strategic transactions, incident response, and regulatory counseling for clients across emerging technology sectors.

- Karen Jaenike – Legal Director at Align Technology, where she serves as product and commercial counsel in the technology and healthcare space. She has worked extensively on AI matters, including regulatory submission strategy for AI in SaMD (software as a medical device) and building global governance infrastructure.

- Lydia de la Torre – Founding Partner of Golden Data Law and a nationally recognized privacy expert. She is a former board member of the California Privacy Protection Agency and has taught privacy and data protection law at Santa Clara University, UC Davis, and UC Law San Francisco.

- Vincent Sheu – Co-Founder of Juries AI, a VC-backed AI legaltech startup. He has also served as General Counsel and Senior Product Manager at SkyLink, an AI-driven traveltech company, and brings earlier experience in litigation, intellectual property, and startup law.
