Forensic Accounting and Financial Investigations: A Primer for Litigators

  • Online (Login credentials will be provided to registrants) (map)

When we think of “forensic accounting,” most of us immediately assume it involves some type of financial fraud or embezzlement -- but it is much more than that. An experienced forensic accountant is also retained as a damages expert in commercial litigation, where her technical knowledge and expertise, judicious analytical skills, compelling storytelling, and fundamental qualities of authenticity, credibility, and trustworthiness add significant value to the conduct and outcome of the case.

In this program, attendees will: (1) become familiar with how a battle-tested forensic accountant assists in litigation and financial investigations, and (2) receive timely mini-lessons in accounting and finance concepts by focusing on a case study where the forensic accountant served as the damages expert in a breach of contract case that ended successfully for the client.
