APABA Silicon Valley Congratulates Judge Erica Yew on Becoming President of the California Judges Association

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley ("APABA Silicon Valley") congratulates Judge Erica Yew on her appointment as the 92nd President of the California Judges Association ("CJA"). The CJA is a professional association whose members include California judges and commissioners representing the interests of the California judiciary.

Judge Yew has served on the Santa Clara County Superior Court since 2001. She currently serves on the board of the National Center for State Courts, co-chairing its Programs Committee, and is a member of the California Supreme Court's Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions and also the California Access to Justice Commission, co-chairing its Racial Justice and Intersectionality Committee. She also co-chairs Governor Newsom's California Judicial Mentor Program. Judge Yew most recently served as one of two Vice Presidents of the CJA.

Judge Yew served as President of APABA Silicon Valley in 1998 and continues to be a supporter of APABA Silicon Valley and other minority bar associations.

"Judge Yew has a longstanding record of public service and leadership for the legal community," said APABA Silicon Valley President Thomas Mathew. "Since her service as President of APABA Silicon Valley over two decades ago, Judge Yew has been a strong voice among our membership and the Bay Area legal community as a whole. She is a source of inspiration for us all, and we are proud to call her one of our own."
