APABA Silicon Valley Congratulates 2016 Scholarship Recipients

Each year, APABA Silicon Valley awards Scholarships to law students throughout the San Francisco bay area. The purpose of our scholarships is to recognize law students who have demonstrated leadership and service to the Asian Pacific American community, who have overcome personal hardships or challenges, or shown excellence and achievement in law school. Importantly, our scholarships are designed to help these students give back to the APA community. We are thrilled to have seen past recipients devote their careers to that very purpose.

We wouldn’t be able to award these scholarships without help from a few other gracious organizations:

We’d like to recognize Asian Law Alliance, a non-profit organization located in San Jose dedicated to providing legal assistance to the Asian Pacific Islander communities. Through our partnership with ALA, one of our scholarship recipients was able to intern at ALA this summer.

We’d also like to recognize BALIF.  BALIF is the nation’s oldest and largest bar association in support of the LGBT community in the field of law. With BALIF’s help, we are able to fund a scholarship specifically for a law student who has demonstrated leadership and service to both the Asian Pacific American and LGBT communities.

We’d like to recognize LTL Attorneys LLP.  LTL is one of the most prominent APA-owned firms in the country and was named "2015 Asian Pacific American (APA)-Owned Law Firm of the Year" by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). LTL's commitment to diversity and community is evident in many facets of their activities, including pro bono and community service, leadership on the boards of a number of different charitable and legal organizations, investment in mentorship, and engagement with organizations focused on serving the APA legal community. APABA Silicon Valley is proud to partner with LTL in providing our Equal Justice Scholarships to two students who have demonstrated excellence and leadership.

Finally, we are proud to announce our 2016 Scholarship Recipients:
