Join the team of attorneys and legal specialists who provide legal counsel to the business teams that Adobe’s worldwide digital media partner business, including our global resale partner program, business licensing programs, fulfillment partnerships, and also a handful of specialty areas such as Education. We are seeking a hardworking, positive and high-energy lawyer to support these businesses. You will work closely with the partner business strategy, financial go-to-market, product development, engineering, and eCommerce teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, to provide counseling on a range of legal topics. You will report to an Adobe Manager, Senior Legal Counsel and help advance client and company business objectives while handling legal risk to Adobe.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with clients on the review of offerings, programs, and initiatives to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice.
Apply a practical and well-balanced perspective to legal issues that arise when selling, reselling, and distributing our products and services.
Advise on compliance with US and international laws and regulations dealing with licensing, anti-trust, marketing, privacy and security.
Counsel sales teams and sales management teams on a variety of licensing, intellectual property, commercial, anti-trust and privacy law topics.
Collaborate with subject matter leads in Adobe Legal, including privacy, antitrust and intellectual property attorneys to analyze legal risks.
Support and build positive relationships with Adobe’s product development teams and advise management on legal issues.
Support internal teams and management that raise licensing questions and requests from customers.
Providing general commercial legal support to various business units, including preparing and delivering training in-house, when appropriate, on key legal areas of interest.
What You Need to Succeed
4 - 5 years of meaningful legal experience either at a law firm or in-house in the tech industry, preferably with experience in the area of contract negotiations, software licensing, and anti-trust counseling.
A J.D. and CA state bar membership is required
Provide strategic and business-focused support for clients, including counseling, negotiation, and drafting of agreements
Ability to succinctly frame complex legal issues and communicate with management (both written and verbal) and strong communication skills generally
Dedication to providing clients with responsive support in a dynamic work environment
Exercise common sense to provide both practical and theoretical advice; should be a creative problem solver and have good business instincts
Optimistic and positive outlook
An ability to multitask and to manage competing deadlines
