Corporate Counsel, Amazon Lab126
Jessica Ou is Corporate Counsel at Amazon Lab126. Prior to joining Lab126, Jessica was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she was a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and practiced in the Information Technology and Data Privacy Group. Jessica received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2011, where she served as APILSA President and Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Technology Law Review. Jessica is an APABA-SV Board Member and founder of APABA-SV's Women In Law Committee.
General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary, Exponential Interactive
Thomas Chow is a seasoned executive with nearly 20 years of experience in technology, legal services, and startup companies. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in legal and business affairs, such as intellectual property (IP) strategy, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international business operations and expansion, data privacy, cybersecurity, and software & SaaS licensing. As an attorney and former IT professional, Thomas has a strong ability to foresee and manage challenges and risks involving new and innovative technologies.
Thomas currently serves as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary for Exponential Interactive, a $200M digital advertising and analytics (adtech) company, which he joined in 2014. He is responsible for the legal, equity administration, facilities and real estate functions supporting 30 offices in 26 countries. He also oversees strategic planning for the Company, being responsible for all management offsite retreats and planning meetings.
An advisor to technology startup companies and founders, Thomas currently serves as a Board Director for Cryptsonic, a startup focused on integrated DRM solutions.
Prior to joining Exponential Interactive, he was Vice President, General Counsel at Vindicia, a $25M venture (VC) backed SaaS startup focusing on payments, subscription billing, and fraud detection (acquired by Amdocs, NASDAQ:DOX), and acting General Counsel at TechSoup Global, a global eCommerce platform that has distributed over $6B in products from Microsoft, Symantec, Adobe, Dell, and Cisco to the non-profit sector.
Thomas obtained his B.A. in Sociology, with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Varian Medical Systems
John joined Varian in 2003 as senior counsel, focusing on commercial transactions, securities, corporate governance and M&A, and became GC in 2005. Today, his management responsibilities include the company's Legal, Trade Compliance, Environmental Affairs and Ethical Compliance functions. Before Varian, John was General Counsel at Broadvision and held senior legal positions at 3Com Corporation, Acer America and Baroid Corporation, and was also at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now, DLA Piper) and Fulbright & Jaworski. John graduated from Cornell University and got his law degree from UC Berkeley. John credits his two expat assignments, first to Scotland in a Europe/Middle East role and later to Singapore in a Asia/Pacific Rim role, as seminal to his professional development. He also has worked across three industries – energy, high tech and life sciences. He has served on the board of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, Law Cabinet of the United Way Silicon Valley, Boalt Hall Alumni Association board (President) and the Cornell University Council. He and his team have been awarded the 2016 Corporate Counsel Lifetime Achievement Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal, 2015 Justice in Action award from AALDEF, the 2015 Best Legal Department – Product Counseling from The Recorder, and the 2014 Diversity award from APABA-SV.
Senior Vice President and Special Counsel to the Chairman, PG&E Corporation
Hyun Park, with over 25 years in the legal sector, is senior vice president and special counsel to the Chairman of PG&E Corporation. From November, 2006 to February, 2017, he served as senior vice president and general counsel for PG&E Corporation and its businesses, including its principal subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Prior to joining PG&E Corporation in 2006, he was vice president, general counsel and secretary at Allegheny Energy, Inc. Park previously served as senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Sithe Energies, Inc. He also was a partner with the law firm of Latham & Watkins, where he specialized in corporate transactions and finance. Park is a graduate of Harvard Law School. In addition, he holds a graduate degree in economics from Oxford University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia University. He is a member of the State Bar of California and serves on the boards of directors of the SF-Marin Food Bank and Council of Korean Americans.
