2017 APABA SILICON VALLEY EQUAL JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
Henna Kaushal is a 1L at UC Berkeley School of Law. A proud double golden bear, she received her B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley. Her undergraduate thesis concerned the dynamic issues around statelessness within the South Asian context. She has worked in India on corporate social responsibility projects, and she has studied in France on post-colonial immigration issues.
As an undergraduate, Henna was a community organizer in Sikh, South Asian and API spaces and an active abolitionist in the anti-human trafficking movement. As a law student, Henna hopes to continue organizing for gender and racial justice. Prior to entering law school, she worked at a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth in civic engagement and political activism. After law school, Henna intends to pursue a public interest career affecting change in issues of immigration and incarceration.
